ASK DR. RACHEL: What’s the deal with Jogging Strollers?

Like any baby gear item, there are TONS of options, however, the same two strollers/brands always seem to hold the spotlight: the BOBGear Alterrain Pro and the Thule Urban Glide 2. At first glance, they seem super similar but they do have some differences that might help sway you in favor of one over the other. Our experts have weighed in on each stroller and have designed an easy-to-navigate chart outlining all the features you’d ever need (and want!). This way, you can make an educated decision based on your needs, budget and priorities. Keep reading to learn the difference between the BOB Gear Alterrain Pro and the Thule Urban Glide 2 jogging strollers.

Odds are, if you’re pregnant and/or expecting a new bundle of joy, your sister/friend/mom/colleague told you to register for a jogging stroller! But, what the heck is a jogging stroller?!? Don’t worry – that’s what we’re here for! There are so many types of strollers, but the jogging stroller is by far the most versatile and popular. They have 3 wheels, allow you to off-road like a boss, run trails, hike or adventure in the city with nothing to hold you back! They’re typically larger and bulkier than your traditional compact or travel stroller versions but pack a mean punch when it comes to convenience. Trust me, they’re worth every penny!

LET’S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS

The Difference between the BOB Gear Alterrain Pro and Thule Urban Glide 2

The BOBGear Alterrain Pro jogging stroller is the newest addition to the BOBGear line and is much more streamlined that its predecessors. It comes loaded with features that matter to parents and is a definite crowd pleaser. The all-weather fabric and full suspension allow you to adventure wherever you may choose and enjoy life as a family.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 keeps the parent and child’s comfort in mind with its ergonomic handlebar, padded seat and full suspension. Its sleek frame and will take you and your family anywhere you want to go with ease! It also is compatible with MOST infant car seat brands so it’s a great option for many families that want to transform their stroller into a travel system.

S.O.S

Still need help deciphering which stroller is best for you? If you already have an infant car seat, start there – you might be limited as to which jogging stroller will work with your seat. The car seat was super important to me and so I got that first, then found a stroller that was compatible. [I had the Britax B-Safe Ultra and BOBGear stroller.]
